About 75 World Financial Group tailgaters beat out the rain and watched the University of California at Berkeley Golden Bears defeat the University of Arizona Wildcats Sept. 22 in Berkeley, Calif. As part of the WFG Pac-10 Conference sponsorship, associates and their guests are treated to a fully catered tailgate party before each conference football game. WFG Supervisory Board Co-Chairman Rich Thawley hosted the Sept. 22 party.
World Financial Group Supervisory Board Member Jack Linder hosted the Oct. 13 Arizona State University tailgating party in Tempe, Ariz. During the party, "Runnin' With the Pac" show host Brooke Olzendam stopped by and interviewed Linder and former ASU coach Frank Kush. The WFG party and Frank’s thoughts regarding Dennis Erickson, the current ASU coach, were included in the broadcast.
The UCLA Alumni Band, AM570 Radio's live broadcast and the Red Bull MotoCross event were all within feet of the Oct. 20 World Financial Group/UCLA tailgate hosted by WFG SVC John Pham. Throughout the three hours, guests were entertained with music and motor cross jumps, though the highlight of the day was certainly when former UCLA quarterback Drew Olson spoke to the group. Following his speech, Drew autographed hats and took pictures with guests.
Surprisingly warm November weather didn't scorch partygoers at the Nov. 13 World Financial Group VIP tailgate at Stanford University. The group was extremely enthusiastic about meeting former Stanford quarterback, Heisman trophy winner and former NFL player Jim Plunkett. Jim spoke to the WFG guests for about 20 minutes and then posed for pictures and autographed their souvenir Stanford hats.
