Kile Mockett Turns WFG Success Into a Path to Parenthood — for His Family and Others
For Kile Mockett, building a business was never just about financial success. It was about creating stability and ultimately, building a family. As a World Financial Group (WFG) agent for over a decade, Kile has grown a business that’s given him the flexibility and income to pursue a deeply personal dream of having and raising a family.
That dream was shaped by Kile’s childhood where he faced many significant challenges, including losing both of his parents before the age of 21. His husband, Jacobo who immigrated to the United States from Colombia as a teenager, shared Kile’s dream after watching his own parents work tirelessly to create a better life. Those experiences gave the Mocketts a deeper appreciation for a strong financial foundation.
“When we first got together, we had debt and no savings,” Kile said. “Now we understand how to manage our money and how to plan long-term. We’re not focused on living extravagantly. We’re focused on building something that lasts.”
That long-term mindset became especially important when the couple decided to pursue the path to parenthood via surrogacy through an international organization in Colombia. Jacobo, being Colombian-American, was familiar with the cultural nuances and complexities, but the financial, travel and time commitments were still demanding. Kile, being a WFG agent had a business opportunity that provided the flexibility that a traditional career just couldn’t offer.
“Having a business with WFG made it possible. We applied the same financial strategies I share with clients every day to our own lives, creating a roadmap that helped make our dream of becoming parents a reality,” said Kile. “And I could work from home, travel when needed and focus on what mattered most without asking for permission or time off.”
The couple documented their journey on social media, sharing the highs and challenges along the way. When their first son was born, they were overjoyed. Their story resonated with others, including another WFG agent.
“After struggling with infertility, she wanted advice on how to become a parent,” said Kile. “Of course, I wanted to help.”
The Mocketts guided her through the process, connecting her to resources and an organization that could help her on her journey. Twelve months later, she welcomed her first child via surrogacy. As word spread, more people began reaching out, and referrals quickly followed. That’s when Kile realized that his journey with WFG allowed him to have a much greater impact on his community.
From Helping One Family to Helping Hundreds
The Mocketts saw a clear gap for those pursuing non-traditional paths to parenthood — people needed not only financial stability, but trusted guidance through one of life’s most emotional and complex experiences.
In 2022, the Mocketts created The Denver Dads, a surrogacy and in vitro fertilization (IVF) agency designed to support families and individuals navigating their journeys. Today, they have helped more than 125 families welcome children into the world.
According to the World Health Organization, infertility affects 1 in 6 people globally. This June, as Pride Month and Infertility Awareness Month converge, the Mocketts’ story carries even deeper meaning. Their journey reflects both who they are and what they’ve built: a family and a mission rooted in helping others.
“We love parenting,” said Kile. “And now we can change our family for generations. Because of the business I have built through WFG, we understand financial habits, protection and long-term planning. WFG has been life-changing.”
