Kheadrick Hunt Helps Others Speak the Language of Finance
Ask Kheadrick Hunt what he does as a WFG agent, and he will tell you he doesn’t start with numbers. He starts by saying, “I feel like money has a language, and I’m here to translate it for my clients. We help people better understand what’s going on in a way that meets them where they are and to help lift them to where they want to be.”
It’s a simple idea, and his entire approach is built on it. He believes financial confidence isn’t always about speaking the language of money concepts fluently. It’s about having a trusted resource who can explain it in a way that makes sense to you.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Kheadrick spent six years in the Marines. From there, he earned a tech degree, then looked for ways to keep growing. “I started to learn that you need to do multiple things,” he says. “You have to have multiple streams.” Along the way, money became the subject he couldn’t stop studying.
“Understanding money and how it works is something that everybody could benefit from,” he says. “Once I put my mind towards insurance, I realized it was a meaningful way to help people better understand their options and plan for the future. .” When he found WFG, the timing lined up with a mindset he’d already established, and he saw an opportunity to help people the way he wished someone had helped him.
The Power of Understanding
Kheadrick didn’t grow up with easy access to financial education or resources. He knows what it feels like to hear the language of money spoken fast, without the benefit of someone slowing down to translate it. Now, when he sits with a client for the first time, he remembers that feeling and starts at the beginning with a game plan he calls GRIPS: Growth, Retirement, Income, Protection and Savings.
“We start with realistic goals first,” he explains. “From there, we look at where protection fits so the rest of their financial strategy has something solid underneath it.”
Kheadrick starts every client conversation by helping people identify their goals and understand the role different financial tools can play in supporting them. Through his GRIPS framework, he guides clients through areas like growth, retirement, income, protection and savings, always focusing on what matters most to their individual circumstances. For many families, that conversation includes discussing how life insurance and other forms of protection can help address financial risks and support long-term plans. With a clearer understanding of their options, clients are better equipped to make informed decisions about protecting what they've worked hard to build while pursuing their broader financial goals.
Kheadrick doesn’t stick to one method for making an idea land, either. Storytelling, music, poems, dance, whatever gets the point across, he’ll reach for it. “We just try to convey and translate in any way possible to help people understand more,” he says. If a spreadsheet doesn’t do the trick, he’ll find something else that does.
Holding the Door Open for Others
Coming from a background where building strategies ahead of action wasn’t the norm, he’s also proud of how much he’s taught himself. “I had to be the person to invest in my own future,” he says. Once he did, and started teaching other family members to do the same, it became proof that financial habits — and futures — can change from one generation to the next.
Kheadrick brings the same mindset he brings to every client conversation. His goal is to break cycles of unawareness by translating the answers that once seemed foreign to so many. Save versus spend. Cash flow versus credit. None of it is complicated once it’s explained in plain language, and that’s the job. Kheadrick stands in front of the parts of money management that used to feel closed off and opens the door for people to walk through.
When asked what advice he’d give someone considering WFG, he circles back to the same tenacity that made him a successful Marine before insurance ever entered the picture: keep learning, keep stacking new skills and don’t assume the version of yourself right now is the finished product. “Open your mind to the possibilities and the things you’re capable of doing,” he says.
He’s quick to add that none of it happens alone. “If we just allow people to pour into us…we can accomplish things we may not have thought possible.
It’s the reason why Kheadrick feels so deeply about WFG’s mission, no family left behind, no matter where they started or what resources they had access to growing up. He’s proof that the language of money can be taught, one honest conversation at a time, and he plans to keep holding that door open for as long as people are ready to walk through it.
